The recent MOU signing ceremony between 1C Vietnam and the Agency for Enterprise Development (AED) marked an important milestone in the journey of accompanying Vietnamese SMEs in digital transformation. The combination of technology solutions and support policies will create a strong push, while at the same time committing to building support packages on consulting and technology solutions to help SMEs quickly adapt to the 4.0 industrial revolution.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Phuong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, said that cooperation is based on building preferential solution packages specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises, helping businesses minimize consulting costs or digital solutions to improve business efficiency.
Over the past 4 years, the Department of Enterprise Development has focused on popularizing and raising awareness of digital transformation for businesses in 63 provinces and cities across the country. In addition, the Ministry has also carried out in-depth digital transformation support activities such as consulting, training, technology support, etc. Up to now, businesses have had clear changes in their awareness of the necessity of digital transformation. Many businesses have entered the stage of digitizing data, standardizing processes, applying digital technology and moving towards digital transformation on a larger and more synchronous scale.
In particular, not only stopping at simple digital transformation, the trend of digital transformation associated with green transformation towards a sustainable digital economy is also increasingly receiving due attention. Many leading pilot programs and projects have been deployed by the Department to orient businesses.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Enterprise Development, said: The rapid development of digital technology, new technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and big data are increasingly widely applied in different fields. In 2020, the Prime Minister signed a decision approving the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030. In which, it emphasized "Promoting digital transformation in enterprises to improve the competitiveness of enterprises and the whole economy" with the goal that by 2025, the digital economy will account for 20% of GDP and reach 30% of GDP by 2030.

During the working session and exchange between the two sides, Ms. Nguyen Viet Hue, Deputy Head of Information Support and Digital Transformation Department, Department of Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment shared: “In the digital transformation program for the period 2021-2025, the Department of Enterprise Development - Ministry of Planning and Investment deploys the development of the digital transformation ecosystem and the digital transformation enterprise support program including technology enterprises, training and support organizations and experts in the industry. The general goal of the Digital Transformation Enterprise Support Program for the period 2021-2025 is to support the promotion of digital transformation in enterprises through the integration and application of digital technology to improve the efficiency of production and business activities, enhance capacity and competitive advantage, and create new values for enterprises."
